The Friends of Lytham Hall invite you to the launch of the second edition of Peter Watson’s brilliantly informative history of Harry Clifton.

 

Harry Clifton Squire of Lytham - The Extraordinary life of an English Eccentric.

 

Tea & coffee will be served

 

Peter will be there to introduce and sign his book which will be on sale at the special price of £8.50 (RRP  £9.99). When the first edition was published in November 2020 it provoked a good deal of interest and many people came forward with extra information about Harry and his friends. We  were delighted when Peter agreed to write a new, expanded, edition about the last of the Cliftons to live at Lytham Hall.

Kitty Bouman has hired a room at Lytham Hall where you can spend 2hrs learning the art of loose botanical watercolours, cooled by a chilled mini bottle of Prosecco. You will learn simple strokes and techniques to set you off on your way and at the end you will take your pad, brushes and watercolours home with you to practice!

No previous experience necessary and even if you think 'I can't do that!' I promise you, that by the end of the session you will KNOW that you CAN! Dive into the mesmerizing world of loose botanical watercolours, capturing the essence of nature's beauty.

 

Join Kitty, as you explore the floral wonders of the natural world.

We welcome back by popular demand the one & only Peter Sarsfield with his tribute to the original Jersey Boy himself. Frankie Valli's music has thrilled audiences for decades throughout the world. You loved this show in 2023 and have been "begging" us to get it back!

 

Tickets are only £20 to include a Pie and Peas supper.

Easter Family Fun Day

Sunday 20th April 2025 - 11am - 3pm

The Friends of Lytham Hall will be running their annual Family Fun Day on Easter Sunday.

The Easter Bunny has hidden her eggs in the woods so follow the trail and help her find them. There are lots of creatures hiding in the woods so watch out for the Fox!!!!

Collect some eggs and then the Easter Bunny will give you a chocolate surprise!

Come and enjoy Cake decorating, the Bouncy Castle, the Kids Tombola, Bookstall, Easter Crafts and fun Games

 

The café is full of treats and the Garden Hub are all open. 

CASH ONLY for all activities on site

Dogs allowed on the trail on a short lead please.

Classic & Performance Motor Show

Sunday 18th May 2025 - 10am - 4pm

We bring the best of classic and performance cars, bikes and commercials to Lytham Hall, for a spring bonanza.

Make the most of the beautiful spring with a combination of horsepower and history in front of this classic Georgian Mansion.

The show takes place on the sweeping lawns filling the 78-acre park with a huge display of classic cars, light commercials, classic 4×4’s, ex-military and motorcycles.  Private classic cars are warmly invited along.

Chat to fellow enthusiasts at an extensive range of club stands.  Browse the array of trade stands for that vital part or memorabilia, or hunt for bargains in the ever-popular auto jumble.

A Fantastic Mega Picnic Concert! We welcome the amazing Master Of The Scene as the legendary 70's group ABBA. Get ready to be whisked back to the 70's for a fun upbeat show with a live band, exceptional vocalists and musicians, and authentic costumes. All the classics will have you singing and dancing from the start! There will be support from the fantastic Josh Rudd to start the party atmosphere!.

Bee Awareness Day

The Blackpool & Fylde Beekeepers Association will be holding a Bee Awareness Day at Lytham Hall on Wednesday 28th May 2025 from 10am.

 

The Blackpool Beekeepers are a friendly and growing group of committed beekeepers with a vast knowledge and experiences in beekeeping.

There will also be craft sessions, honey tasting, observation hive and beeswax candle making (small charge for craft activities).

 

No need to book, for children & adults of all ages, free entry.

Lytham Antique Fair

Sunday 8th June - 10am

Husband & wife team Paul & Annette Shinkfield run a series of Antique Fairs in the North West under the banner of Tip Top Antiques. Between us we have more than 40 years combined experience in the world of antiques. We are delighted to have the opportunity to open a new fair in the beautiful & historic setting of Lytham Hall. Our stallholders will be showcasing a wide range of high quality antiques including silver, jewellery, militaria, books, coins, ceramics, glass, small furniture and Chinese & Japanese antiques.

We hope you will join us at our first event on Sunday June 8th.

 

Admission is just £1 with accompanied children free of charge. If you are looking to sell any antique items, please feel free to bring them (or photos) along as our stallholders may well be interested in purchasing them from you.

The Duke’s Theatre Company will open the 16th season of outdoor  theatre at Lytham Hall with their production of one of Shakespeare’s most gripping tragedies.

The Brighton-based company will be making their debut at Lytham Hall as part of a nationwide tour to some of the UK’s most prestigious stately homes.

Gloucester-based Rain or Shine Theatre return to Lytham Hall with Sheridan’s witty Restoration Comedy, featuring the eccentric Mrs. Malaprop who constantly misuses words with the same sound  to huge comic effect. Rain or Shine have been regular top quality visitors to the Lytham Hall stage for 15 years.

Friday 18th July - 6.00pm

Following their acclaimed performance of ‘Little Women’ in front of a full house last summer Lincoln -based Chapterhouse Theatre return to Lytham Hall with their production of Charlotte Bronte’s ever-popular classic Jane Eyre. The dramatic 1847 novel is adapted for the stage by the award-winning Laura Turner.

Lytham Classic Bus Display & Service Day

Sunday 20th July 2025 - 10am

Ribble Vehicle Preservation Trust will be displaying vintage   Buses and Coaches in front of the Hall, as well as running a free Bus service which will connect the Hall with Lytham Town Centre, Fairhaven Lake and onwards to St Anne's Square. 

Access to the grounds of the hall is free but please note that no parking is available at the hall (except for disabled).

Lady Eleanor Cecily Clifton invites you to attend 

her Musical Soiree in the Upper West Wing at Lytham Hall where a sparkling Victorian Afternoon Tea will be served.

 

The clock will turn back to July 1855 when Lady Cecily  (Debbi Clifton) will be interviewed about her life and musical tastes by Preston journalist Mr William Dobson (Hugh Clifton). Music from Lady Cecily’s own collection will be played by    Mr Andrew Barnett, featuring songs of the period by             Mr Peter Anthony.

Illyria return with a different cast  to present one of Shakespeare’s most amusing comedies as the penniless Sir John Falstaff plots  to find one, or two, rich women to assist. The cast of five play a host of characters and always make Shakespeare’s language accessible, as the plot twists comically with numerous mistaken identities.

Get creative, have fun and learn a new skill by coming along to the popular cushion arm knitting workshop.

You will knit your very own round chunky knit cushion from 1kg of 100% pure unspun merino wool to take home - perfect as a splash of colour on your sofa, chair or bed. The cushion is approximately 14” in size with an internal feather pad.

 

Also you will create a matching 14” merino wool heart wreath.

No experience or needles necessary!!

Ally Bob Knit will teach you step by step how to knit your own cushion and heart wreath.
