Vintage bus day on bank holiday Monday
The Ribble Vehicle Preservation Trust is organising its fourth ‘Classic Bus Running Day’ on Monday, August 28th, 2017. Following the success of last years’ event held at Lytham Hall, we will be returning there on Bank Holiday Monday, 28th August. The event will run from 10.00 to 16.00.
The Hall and its vast parkland provides a perfect setting for our vehicles and there will be a free bus service which will connect the Hall with Lytham Town Centre, Fairhaven lake, which is a popular local tourist destination and onwards to St Anne’s Square. This will necessitate a quite intensive service using many of RVPT’s preserved Ribble buses and a number of other preserved buses which originated with local operators so there will be much to enjoy. Lytham Hall is a grade 1 listed building which is undergoing extensive renovation (details at lythamhall.org.uk).
We will have a display of our buses and coaches in front of the building as well as the free bus service described above. Access to the grounds of the hall is free, with donations encouraged, but please note that no parking is available at the hall (except for disabled).
Car parking is available in the car park adjacent to Ribble House on Ballam Road opposite the main entrance to the Hall grounds. Ribble House parking is also available, for which we are very grateful indeed. Parking is free on bank holidays. You can then walk across the road to the entrance and use our frequent service to take you to the Hall. Alternatively you can use the (pay) car park at Fairhaven Lake and travel on our vintage buses to the Hall.
